About The Company
Forward sports company was established by Late Shri D.N Chawla and started its operations in 1922. being highly educated and experienced, he developed the sports business with the trader and suppler the biggest buyers of sports goods in the country, at that time. His exemplary curtesy and pleasant disposition and an above-board business philosophy, soon won him a number of friends and endeared him to a number of senior british officers who were serving then the army.
Shri chawla's basic philosophy of providing excellent quality of sports goods, coupled with punctual on time delivery at absolutely fair price, endeared him to his army customers, who rewarded him by placing large repeat order on him. Word of mouth publicity generated by his customers, soon developed the company from its humble origins into a well known and a reputed organisation.
With the encouragement he received from the customers, he went on to establish a "gut" manufacturing company in sallkot for badminton, tennis and squash rackets.
To be close to the army customers, he also established an office and a shop in Deolali, a semi-hill station and army cantonment near Bombay, which was actually a holding area for British soldiers being posted back to britain. This area, later became the site for the artillery center of the indian army.
Steady support and appreciation from the customers saw him expanding his operation to the manufacturing of cricket bats, cricket/hockey balls, hockey sticks, warmup shoes etc. His desire for quality was so strong, that he personally used to randomly inspected most of the product consignments (discarding all those that did not meet his stringent quality standards) before they were shipped out to the customers.This habit of his,won the trust and appreciation of all his customers,thus strengthening the bonds with them.Many of these business relationships transformed into lifelong friendships. As a matter of fact, the relationships with the British officers posted in India, formed the basis of first exports of the company to Britain, in late 40's.
Presently the 2nd and the 3rd generation of the family are involved in running the business.
Essentially it was the experience and dedication to serve the customers, besides the ability to provide them with quality goods, that helped to win and cement our relationship with our customers. To this day, our business philosophy remains the same,despite the numerous pressures and challenges we have faced in the recent times.
Our product offerings include a comprehensive assortment all sports items,all athletic, weight training,gymnastic items,sport shoes,sports kits/all uniform items for schools,armed forces and training intuitions, other sports wear including high quality track suits.
